Nostalgic Cruise in Western Canada
The Pacific Yellowfin is a 1943 wooden boat charter that blends luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine, and endless activities. This cruise is a chance to discover the beautiful and uncrowded coastline of British Columbia.
Take a culinary cruise through the Gulf Islands’ calm waters or go further afield and discover the majestic fjords of Desolation Sound. You may also want to discover the Great Bear Rainforest, home to Grizzly and Black Bears, as well as to the unique Spirit Bear, a Black Bear that is white due to a genetic deficiency.
An experience onboard the Pacific Yellowfin enables doing as many on- or off-shore activities as a land resort while being utterly alone in a bay or fjord. It is, therefore, taking a step further than booking a chalet or a ranch to oneself.
Though we have set itineraries on offer, our cruises are totally customized. Upon arrival, the captain sits down with our guests and suggests routes and activities to plan the trip according to their wishes.
- Desolation Sound’s waters are calm and sheltered with many protected anchorages in bays, coves, and inlets, and plentiful oysters, clams, and prawns. There are numerous lakes and waterfalls, and it boasts one of the warmest saltwater north of Mexico, rising to 28°C! It is ideal for families who want to play in the water.
- The Gulf Islands are known as Canada’s Mediterranean for being an artistic, cultural, and culinary hotbed. It produces some of the Province’s finest artisanal breads, cheese, wine, fine art, and handicrafts.
- The Great Bear Rainforest is a remote wilderness region accessible only by air or water. It is home to the three bear species and coastal wolves, Sikta deers, bald eagles, humpback whales, orcas, Steller sea lions, and Dall’s porpoises, and harbor seals. It is the traditional area for the First Nations, and thanks to our guide, our guests can enjoy a true cultural experience. It is a perfect cruise for wildlife and photography enthusiasts.
The plethora of activities that can be done on any cruise are kayaking, waterskiing, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, motorbiking, hiking, etc. The quietness of the sea and the proximity to the shore at all times enable activities to be safe, and despite being at sea on the Pacific Ocean, there are no issues with seasickness.
The cuisine is a highlight of our cruises, with our Executive Chef Milan preparing fresh food, most often caught by our guests themselves. He has a simple yet elegant approach to cuisine, whether serving on the fantail deck, in the staterooms, or on a picnic excursion.
We have two staterooms and two cabins which can comfortably accommodate 8 adults or a maximum of 12 with children.
