Founded by PJ and Barney Bestelink in 1986, this is the first riding Safari Company in Southern Africa. The focus is a journey through the Okavango Delta’s diverse landscape and an understanding of the ecosystem in this truly incomparable area. In booking a riding safari with us, you are guaranteed a pristine wilderness with unique landscapes. The concept of riding this area is exceptional, as horses wade through the shallow waters, swim through rivers, placing guests in areas unspoiled by the human footprint.
Horse-back experiences of approaching wildlife and exploring the delta places makes the rider become one with nature. The interaction between wildlife and horses is a natural relationship, and every encounter is unique. Cantering through the floodwaters alongside the elegant motion of a giraffe is an experience that will never be forgotten.
Our specialized team of horses is classed within the industry as the best safari horses globally; care is taken to match horse and rider, with top quality tack, excellent standards of guiding, personal attention, and high standards of accommodation.
We use three camps: Kujwana features luxury en-suite tents raised on teak deckings under a fabulous natural canopy. Mokolwane offers 2m high treehouses along the Matsibe River’s edge, and Qwaapo Camp overlooks a beautiful hippo lagoon.
The remote camps are accessed by helicopter, based in private concession areas of over 2,500 km². Apart from the main attraction of exploring the delta on horse-back, guests will also experience the landscape aboard a makoro, on foot, and game drives, including night drives. The number of participants is limited to eight guests. Safari tours have a duration of 5, 7, or 10 nights. Non-riders can be accommodated.
We are committed to responsible tourism, staff development, and the protection of the Okavango Delta.
